A public consultation draft of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Amendment (Identification of Buildings with Combustible Cladding) regulation 2017 is open for public comment until 16 February 2018, and proposes that:
- owners of buildings with combustible cladding will be required to notify the Environmental Protection Agency
- the Environmental Protection Agency will maintain a register of buildings with combustible cladding
- penalties will apply to owners of buildings for failure to give the required notice
